BASIL SEED
Basil seeds are small, black seeds obtained from the sweet basil plant. When soaked in water, they develop a gelatinous coating, similar to chia seeds, giving them a unique texture often used in drinks and desserts.
Basil seeds are tiny, oval-shaped, and jet black when dry. Once soaked, they swell and form a translucent gel layer around a dark core. They are mildly flavored, making them easy to incorporate into a variety of dishes without altering taste significantly.
