BLACK PEPPER
Black pepper is one of the most widely used spices in the world, known for its sharp, pungent flavor and subtle heat. It comes from the dried fruit (peppercorns) of a climbing vine plant.
Black pepper is native to South India and is produced from unripe green berries that are harvested and dried until they become wrinkled and dark. The spice has a strong, mildly spicy taste due to a compound called piperine. It is commonly used whole, crushed, or ground.
